Gold calculator

Two common gold-market calculations, prefilled with the board's current mazaneh.

Mazaneh ⇄ Weight ⇄ Amount

Enter two values and the third is calculated: give the mazaneh and weight to get the amount, or the amount and mazaneh to get the weight. The calculated field is coloured. Formula: amount = weight × (fineness ÷ 705) × mazaneh ÷ 4.6083. At fineness 750 (18K gold) this is the same as “weight × mazaneh ÷ 4.3318”. Under each amount its value in thousand toman is also shown, and the price per gram at the same fineness appears below the form.

Enter a piece's weight and fineness to see its 18K equivalent weight, its 705 melted-gold equivalent and its weight in mesghal. For example, 10 g of 900 gold equals 12 g of 18K gold.

Notes

• This page appears in the menu only when “Gold trading” is on in Settings and the “18K gold (gram)” and toman or rial currencies are active.
• The default mazaneh is the average of the board's buy and sell, rounded to the thousand toman. Change it for your own calculation. Nothing is saved or recorded.
