Partner profit sharing
Each partner has a current account in the ledger's Partners' current accounts folder plus a participation percentage. The period profit uses the same formula as the P&L report (trading profit + fees + other income − expenses, in the reference currency).
Step by step
- Add partners and save percentages (max 100 in total; less = the company's undistributed share).
- Pick the period and press "Calculate".
- Confirm/adjust the distributable amount (defaults to net profit) and post the distribution.
What gets posted?
One group document (GRP): the fixed account (default: trading P&L) is debited and each partner's current account is credited with their share — what the company owes them. A later withdrawal is a normal transfer from their current account to a bank/cash box.
Next to the distribute button there is a “Hidden” checkbox (on by default): the distribution document is visible only to holders of the “View hidden accounts” permission — statement rows remain (to keep balances correct) but opening the document shows “hidden” to unauthorized users.
Only once per range
Every recorded distribution is kept in the "Distribution history", and the application does not allow a second distribution over an overlapping range — unless you reverse the previous distribution document (which then stays in the history marked "Reversed").
Automatic month-end distribution
Tick "Distribute automatically at month end" on the booking card and, on the last day of each month, that month's profit (per your system calendar) is calculated and distributed to partners as a hidden document. It runs once per month and is skipped if the same period was already distributed manually. Editing percentages and adding partners is tucked behind the pencil button to keep the page uncluttered day to day.
- Automatic run time: the closing minutes of the month's last day (from 23:45) — so the full last day's profit is included.
