Record Expense
The exchange's own costs — rent, salaries, bills, courier, supplies — are recorded here so they're deducted from profit and the real bottom line is clear. The amount leaves a till/bank and is written against one of the "expense categories".
Where This Page Fits
- The total of expenses shows up in Reports → P&L (in the reference currency).
- Expense categories are managed under General Ledger → Expenses.
Step by Step
- Choose the expense category — if you need a new one (e.g., "Internet"), create it right here.
- Choose the till/bank the money came from.
- Enter currency, amount, and description; save.
Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Expense account | The expense category (e.g., rent, staff salaries). You can create a new category right here. |
| From account | The till/bank the funds are paid from. |
| Currency and expense amount | The amount paid. |
| Description / date and time | Description and timing of the expense. |
Notes
- A foreign-currency expense (e.g., in dollars) is also allowed; it's converted to the reference currency at today's rate in the P&L report.
